The Fizik brand presents its new Argo X saddle intended for cyclocross, gravel or XC competition. You have two models with different prices and features. On the one hand, the X3 (with Kium alloy rails) and which is a little lighter, and on the other hand, the X5 (alloy rails) which is cheaper and a little less light than the first.
Below, we detail its main features and, as always, we encourage you to provide your comments.
Detail of Fizik Argo X
Broad structure and short nose
The difference between Argo X and the Argo road models is that they have a slightly more generous padding. As for its shape, it continues to maintain its wide structure and its short nose that allow a more comfortable ride on those terrains where they tend to have more irregularities or simply more potholes.
Obviously, this kind of shorter design causes the pressure to be minimized and the ride is much more comfortable than extended models. In fact, they are starting to be a trend widely used by cyclists. There are numerous examples already on the market that offer us similar saddles.
In addition, it has rounded corners, so that pedaling is much smoother and much more comfortable.
They also use Wingflex technology like other stamps of the manufacturer. That is, the lateral edges of the shell flex and adapt to the internal movement of the cyclist’s leg.
The low profile and rounded edge shape also makes it easy to adjust position and get off the back of the saddle (and back on) during descents.
Raised rear area
As for the rear, the X3 and X5 presents a certain elevation. This ensures that the cyclist remains in position and improves support both on steep climbs and on uneven terrain.
Available models, weight and price
As for the difference between the two, the Arg X3 is slightly lighter (242 grams). It uses Fizik’s Kium metal rails and is priced at €149.00. On the other hand, the X5 is a bit heavier: 251 grams. The rails are alloy S and costa €109.00.
