Best Offers for Bikers on this event.
From March to April Trek launched the season of offers in Spain called Trekfest and now it’s Mexico’s turn. Some of their bike models, apparel and accessories are on sale, including gravel-focused ones and you’ll get to know them right away.
Checkpoint SL 7 AXS; to compete on gravel
Launched in 2018 and renewed twice, the Checkpoint is one of the most popular gravel bikes today. There are two versions; carbon frame (SL) and aluminum frame (ALR). Both mount carbon forks.
So good, Trek has offered the Checkpoint SL 7 AX with a carbon frame and fork for Mexico which the manufacturer calls 500 series OCLV. This Checkpoint is high-end and has a mechanism where the top tube, seat tube and top pods come together called IsoSpeed. This allows you to have a cushioning of up to 20mm so that your back suffers less. Assemble a group or electronic transmission SRAM Force eTap AXS, 12 speeds. Its brakes are hydraulic. It is a top level group. Its chainrings/cranks are Sram Force 43/30T and it’s accompanied by a 10-36 cassette, a very good combination for practicing gravel.

The tires that factory mounts are Bontrager GR1 Team Issue 700c x 40c. Its wheels are Bontrager Aeolus Pro 3V Carbon OCLV.
This Checkpoint it has plenty of holes for three drums and a bento bag in the upper tube. There are also eyelets for an inner frame bag. Each fork has two holes. As if that weren’t enough, it has a compartment in the lower tube to store tools or a vest.
- BERRIA BELADOR ALLROAD, A VERY VERSATILE CARBON GRAVEL
Sweight is 8.9kg and very much in line with the gravels of its level from other brands. He has a offer price of MX $127,999.00being its original price of MX $159,999.00. Yes, it is a very high priced gravel, but if you have the money and want to splurge, this gravel will not disappoint. here.
Domane SL 5 Jan 4; for light gravel at high level
The aforementioned Checkpoint is priced beyond the reach of most of us mere mortals. The good thing is that Trek also offers another gravel bike model, but it’s lightweight and priced a bit more accessible.
To clarify this “light gravel” I explain that the American brand offers two ranges of gravel bikes; Checkpoint (as described above) and the Domane. The first is for rough gravel where the roads are demanding and therefore require a more robust frame and tires thicker than 40c (the Checkpoint supports up to 45c). The second is for light or compact gravel since its tire tread does not exceed 38c. Carbon and aluminum frames are offered in both ranges.
Having said that, the Domane SL 5 Gen 4 has a frame made of the same carbon as the aforementioned Checkpoint, but it has a different geometry, a slightly changed design and its frame is lighter, since it is a bike to practice light gravel, also known as All Road.
If the frame and fork is first level, its transmission is average level in mechanical type and brand Shimano 11-speed Shimano 105 R7025 series and hydraulic brakes. But don’t get me wrong; with this transmission you get anywhere.
This transmission is more focused on driving on asphalt since it has two 50/34 plates and pinion 11-34T. You will be able to enter gravel without a doubt, but on slopes or steep climbs it will take more effort.
Domane is for light gravel, although you will need to change tires to thicker ones. Image: Trek.
The tires that mounts are 32c Bontrager model R3 Hard-Case Lite, but remember you can mount up to 38c officially The wheels are Bontrager (Trek owned) Paradigm SL model aluminum.
This Domane brings holes for three drums and bento bag. The fork only has eyelets for loders but not for placing a load rack or drum holder on each arm.
Her weight is 8.9kg like the Checkpoint. He has a offer price of $67,999.00 with the regular price of $79,999.00. You can see her here.
FX 3 DISC; economical, it’s for exercise but… also for gravel
Officially the FX range is Fitness type (exercise), but thanks to its features it can do with light gravel and here are the reasons. For starters, it mounts a Shimano Deore M4100 10-speed transmission with a single 40T chainring combined with a Shimano Deore 11-46T cassette. This ratio is very good for climbing and we would already like it in the Shimano GRX monoplate transmission dedicated to gravel and which is sold with an 11-42T cassette.
This FX has a better platter-cassette ratio than most gravel mounts. Image: Trek.
The second reason is the thickness of the tires. It leaves the factory with of 32c but you can mount it up to 38c and this width is already for gravel.
The frame is aluminum and carbon fork. As you could see in the image, its handlebar is flat, unlike the first two which are dropped or horn.
- GIANT INTRODUCES THE FASTROAD AR, THEIR FLAT HANDLEBAR GRAVEL
The FX 3 weighs 11.38kg.which is a high thing but it is compensated by his offer price of MX $15,399.30 and being the normal $21,999.00. You can see her here.
Offers on other products
First it was Spain and now Mexico is following the rest of Latin America? Hopefully so. I think the ideal would be for Trek to put their offer together globally. It would give it more punch, it would generate more noise, and its customers around the world wouldn’t be envying each other. In short, something like the Global Trekfest. While this happens, those who live in Mexico take advantage of the discounts.
